How does Netatmo Smart Indoor Video Camera monitoring work?

The Smart Indoor Video Camera ensures the safety of your home and loved ones. Thanks to the integrated face recognition technology, the video camera recognises the faces of people who cross the threshold of the house. It works in conjunction with the Home + Security App (downloadable on a smartphone or accessible from a computer browser). When the video camera detects a presence, it sends a real-time notification to the smartphone. In case of familiar face, the video camera indicates their name; in case of unknown individual, it sends a notification.

Is it possible to have several video cameras in the same home or connect them to the same account?

Yes, it is possible to install as many video cameras as desired (front door, children's rooms, etc.), and control them from the App. Similarly, several people can access the same video camera account.

How does face recognition work?

When the Smart Indoor Video Camera first identifies a new face, it appears with a question mark on the App. It is then possible to create a new profile, associating a name and configuring the specific privacy parameters. After registration, the video camera will be able to recognise the person and inform the user of their presence. It is possible to register up to 32 faces.

Does the Smart Indoor Video Camera work at night or when it is dark?

Yes, the video camera continues to film in high resolution thanks to night infrared vision.

Does the video camera record 24 hours a day?

When the Smart Indoor Video Camera is switched on, it monitors the area without interruption. However, recording only take place if an event is detected.
There are three types of events:

  • The video camera detects a familiar face
  • The video camera detects an unfamiliar face
  • The video camera detects movement, distinguishing between people and animals, and sending a notification accordingly. Using the App, monitoring can be paused and resumed at will.
